A Yorkshire Day celebration has raised over £200 for Driffield WI.
The Yorkshire Day garden party held was hosted by WI member, Anne Lowde, at her home on Beverley Road.
The celebration which took place on Yorkshire Day (August 1) saw 45 revellers enjoy a fund-raising tea party in the garden.
Anne said: “It was a tea party, open to everybody really.
“We had a super day, the sun shone and we had the Yorkshire flag over us.
“I would like to thank my two waitresses who worked very hard taking the tea pots and cake stands to the tables.”
The WI are now on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Driffield.WI
The group are also looking for new members to join them on the first Thursday of every moth at the Masonic Hall, Driffield - the next meeting will take place on Thursday 5 September and the speaker will be Steph Mitchell who will give a talk entitled ‘Touring Art Gallery.”
